Our Patrons

NCI Worms Head is part of a national charity supported by distinguished patrons who help raise its profile — and we were proud to welcome our Royal Patron in person.

HRH The Princess Royal

The Princess Royal has been Royal Patron of the National Coastwatch since 2018, and her regular visits to NCI stations around the country have helped raise the charity's profile enormously.

On 9 February 2024, during NCI's 30th anniversary year, she visited NCI Worms Head in person — touring the watch room, hearing about the tidal risks our watchkeepers monitor at the causeway, and meeting the duty watchkeepers on shift that day. She unveiled a commemorative plaque to mark the visit, which the station committee and volunteers considered a genuine honour.

Our Other National Patrons

Alongside The Princess Royal, the National Coastwatch is supported by a small number of other patrons, including Dame Katherine Grainger DBE, Chair of UK Sport, who has been a patron since 2013 and regularly attends events in support of the charity's profile and fundraising.

Help Us Keep Watch

Patrons help raise our profile — but it's donations, business supporters, and volunteers that keep the lookout running, 365 days a year.
